Barrio Olvidado means “Forgotten Neighborhood”. It’s the combined memories of places we miss in Tucson. These places were special to the local community for various reasons. They contributed to the spirit of the city and made it unique. It may be a shop that you liked, a café that you visited often, or your grandparents’ house. The objective of this workshop is to create a scale model of a fictitious neighborhood that keeps the stories of these places alive. We will talk about why they were important to us, and we will have an opportunity to relive those memories. The buildings will be of a standard size to fit on lots. They will be made out of foamcore. Attendees will receive the flat walls to build and decorate their own building. Additional items like signage, railings, windows, and doors will be available to them. Some will be 3D printed. Some we will have the materials so attendees can work on what they want.
Members must log in before purchasing to receive their 10% member discount. We are happy to help you register by phone as well (520-881-0606).
